Last night we made waffles for a late snack/supper . . I added left over spaghetti (which were cut into about 2cm pieces) from the dinner earlier. It doesn’t bring much of taste, but the waffles becomes more of a food, than just snack.
The recipe is as follow:
250 g white flour
60 g of sugar (I used brown sugar)
2 teaspoon of baking powder (not soda)
a pinch of salt
1 teaspoon of cardamom
1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar
6 decilitres of milk
4 eggs whipped
4 spoons of butter, melted
(I also added a little bunch of spaghetti that was left over from the dinner)
Do like this:
1. Mix all the dry stuff
2. Stir in half of the milk, making it smooth
3. Add the rest of the milk, the eggs and the butter
4. Let stand for at least 15 minutes, to swell
5. Make them in a waffle-iron, slightly brown
6. Serve with jam, sour cream, sugar etc. :)
And we figured it would be kind of boring just to have normal waffles, so we added a whole bottle of food colouring, red. But the waffles turned out to be more pink. And it was a bit disturbing eating the, because the inside of it, looked like flesh and bones (because of the spaghetti)
You cant really see the colour, but pictures are below.
This is the mixture.
This is the mixture in the waffel-iron.
And this is what it looks like (the day after). As you can see they only look a bit pink in the corners and the inside of them.
